Don’t forget to play There are many times that I am out of words regarding pottery & clay. I try speaking well-nigh our connection with this material which is unquestionably a piece of us as humans, well-nigh the effortless way one can work with it, provided that they “listen” to it, that they show devotion to it. However I am not sure whether my message comes wideness or that the listener can relate and connect to my words. Today, as I was looking at the pictures you will see below, I thought of something that hadn’t crossed my mind (at least consciously) until now. It’s something that I think everyone can relate: PLAY! Yes! It’s so obvious, pottery is playing! You play with mud, water, dirt and that’s so amazing! And everything, either bad or good, comes from playing. So I think that that play, found it’s way to sneak into some of my pottery object. Like in a dream. like it’s drawn in the pages of the most dreamy book. That’s the unenduring I gave myself when I started making this mug. It’s the first of a hodgepodge tabbed “Just Dream”. Everyone who knows me and reads this blog, know how crazy I am well-nigh Tim Burton. It was Tim Burton and his philosophy that inspired me to make this one. Something visionless but happy, something woebegone but moreover white, something melancholy but pretty. Something simpler. A big mug for Christos to drink his coffee with Ikaria Island on it. When not at the island, why not have the island on your mug? This is “The Fish”.     And below, the most wondrous candle holder, which I did not make, but I wish I had. The are made by my friends Sylwia & Yorgos,  a couple who started pottery together well-nigh a year ago, veritably loved it, and with nonflexible work they are now scrutinizingly pros! I am so jealous guys! Way to go!  (BTW, I undeniability them dragon eggs, but i don’t know if they would stipulate <3 )   So that’s well-nigh it well-nigh soil and play! Don’t forget to play! Tweet Facebook Pin 3 COMMENTS Tuesday January 30th, 2018 Make the most fun wand for your cat No kidding, this is the most wondrous DIY toy I’ve made for my cat Pritsini. My other cat Loukia, is not the play-cat type, she prefers to sleep all day and night, so no fun for her! This toy is unquestionably a wand with some kind of small toy or pom pom hanging. I’ll show you the nuts but from then on, it’ s all well-nigh your inspiration. You’ll need a one meter long wooden peg, with a diameter no worthier than 1cm. With this you make 2 wands. Apart from that you’ll need spray paint, thin ropes, feathers, pom poms for the decoration. Also, if you have a dremel multi tool it’s easier to make. Let’s see how I made it. Mark the peg in the middle and cut it in half. With the drilling bit, make a slum at the whet of the peg. Finally, with the sanding bit, sand the edges and holes. After that you’ re ready for the decoration. I played with spray paint but you can moreover do other stuff like wrapping it with colorful ropes etc. Once everything is dry and set, you’ re ready to nail the ropes. The rope must be a bit longer than the peg, at virtually 60-70 cm. Put the rope through the slum and make a knot. At the whet of the rope tie a pom pom or feather, or other soft toy.  Play, see what fits weightier with your cat and definetely put color! The brighter and the most intense, the better. Done! Try this DIY and make your cat happier! 🙂 Tweet Facebook Pin COMMENT Friday January 19th, 2018 just diy | STAR WARS victual girl baptism decoration Normally I should have taken some how-to pictures, but I was the Godmother and moreover the decorator! So, all the crafting happened between my regular job and dress hunting for me as well as the baby. So, thank God I had a little time to take some pictures surpassing all the stuff was taken to church. What I want to say is that this specific project was one of my favorite ones, not only considering I love the parents and the baby, but considering they let me do whatever I wanted! For example this epic candle with Princess Leia! And this epic box which I made from ply wood. Find the fonts here And these super cute pink flags with the baby’s name.  I know I don’t explain much, but I do promise to make a video on the subject and explain everything on how to organize a DIY (Greek) baptism. Till then, you can see all other videos here   Tweet Facebook Pin COMMENT Saturday December 2nd, 2017 just diy | Christmas Decorations Ah, Christmas time, yet flipside opportunity to stay home and make stuff. In this specimen I spent an unshortened afternoon, and scrutinizingly the night, making two wooden christmas trees. All the process and lots of talking (if you speak some Greek) on the pursuit video. The wood I used is chipboard and is very cheap. The first of the two trees needed to be cut with the jig saw to make it into the shape I wanted. However if you don’t have a jig saw it’s not very nonflexible to use a hand saw. I, then, wrapped it with some thin rope and over them I used some woebegone spray paint. After it got dry, I unwrapped it (more accurately, I cut the rope!) I used some spray glue and glued some silver moons. Finally I wrapped it with white ribbon. The second one I made with nails. I drew the shape of the tree on the wood, and then used nails on it. Then, starting from the top, I wrapped red rope among the nails. As simple as that. The piece of wood I bought costed me one euro, while all the other materials I used, I once had. Few days ago I was doing some de-cluttering at home and while doing it I was thinking well-nigh writing this post considering well, I can’t fight it, I want to share the wisdom!  Old lighters. Lighters you bought on that trip you had with your friends on the “Farfaraway” country that are empty now, but you plan to fill them then (YOU’LL NEVER DO IT, ADMIT IT) and you alimony them considering they remind you of your youth and wimpy wimpy blah.. Emotionally connecting with a lighter is not good. You have the memories, you don’t need the lighter! You won’t forget the trip if you throw them away. YOU ARE STRONG, YOU CAN DO IT. THROW THEM AWAY.  Make up that past their expiration stage million years ago. Yes, I know, these eye shadows you bought were so nice and that woebegone pencil that was half price and so on and so forth. HOWEVER, if you protract to use them you’ll guarantee a visit to the dermatologist. Same applies for creams, hair products etc.  Outdate pills and other medicine.  Open that box you alimony the home medicine. You’ ll be surprised by how many are past the expiration date. Dispose of them now!  Candle holders. Come on now, you can shoehorn it, how often do you really light candles? And how many of the candle holders you have, you really like? It’s a sneaky thing these candle holders.. A present here, a something else there and the you end up having 25 holders that gather pebbles while you rarely use them! Gather them, find the ones you like TODAY and dispose of the rest.  Souvenirs from weddings / baptisms etc. It’s OK, your favorite friends got married, it’ s not like they will get a divorce if you throw yonder the thingy from their wedding.  You’re a strong, self-sustaining person, you can dispose of them. It’ s OK.  Plastic bags. Where do you alimony them? In a drawer? In a closet? Wherever you alimony them I am sure it’s chaos. Gather all the recyclable ones and take them to recycling. Buy nice reusable ones and remember to take them with when going to the super market.Alimonyone in your everyday bag and one in the car. Suppliescontainer lids. I really don’t know what conspiracy there is overdue this whole mess, but there is one point where you squint at the supplies containers  cabinet and half the containers are missing (or so it happens in Greece). Let it sink in. The containers are not coming when to you. So throw yonder the lids, you don’t need them.  That bag with the cables. Go when to the deep past and try to remember when was the last time you opened that bag and unquestionably found the subscription you were looking for. If you’re not an electrician, it’s OK to dispose of that bab. Don’t squint bag, don’t question yourself. Just do it.  Pens that stopped writing.  Oh come on now, do I really need to explain why you should dispose of them?Consideringthey don’t write.  Half way wrenched kitchen utensils. That mug with the wrenched handle, that plate that croaky and that trencher you love so much, but it’s wrenched in half and that you alimony in store considering you want to glue it when together.. If a year has past and you haven’t glued it yet, you will never do it. So you can say goodbye now.  Ready?
